w3easyComment
PHP Comment or Guestbook Script
» Manual and Installation Guide » Description in German Language
2011-08-08 [updated 2012-02-14]
The w3easy comment script written in PHP appends a comment functionality to any page of your site that you want to comprehend one. It automatically detects from which page a comment is submitted and allocates the comment to the respective page. If installed properly and if your pages use a common template like the w3easyCMS pages do, you can activate it by writing just one word in the page settings.
As it is our philosophy, the comment script is a standalone module and can be put in any php supported website that accepts external scripts. You can even use the script as guestbook.
After implementing some additional features like language files, different homepage link attributes or the option to display or hide comments by default and especially since the installation is done in a few simple, well documented steps, there shouldn't be that much left you might crave for...

Up to version 0.18 there is a bug in the download archives: While compressing the script folder for download, my former file archiver deleted empty folders the script needs to work with. Using another file archiver (the excellent 'PeaZip') now it is fixed. Please download the actual version and try again.
Sorry for inconvenience.

Btw: Our directory protection script 'w3easyProtect' has got several 5/5 ratings at HotScripts. Not too bad. There must be some experts out there...;)

Finally the 3. note in the php.net article about the chmod function solved the 'chmod' problem concerning the editor resp. the admin tool. The $_POST chmod value, that is first given as string, has to be transformed to an integer by the octdec() function. Basically not that difficult. Hmmm...
Many Thanks, MethodicalFool...;)
